Kanban Boards

Trello is an example of a Kanban board. Boards can be physical or digital. Boards are organized into lists containing cards. Cards progress through lists and contain a description and checklists. Comments and attachments can be appended; members, labels, and due dates assigned. This process makes use of 3 boards:

Sprints Board

The sprints board has 5 lists.

Default Items

The campaign manager builds one card with the following items for each site undergoing a sprint and places them in list 1:


Sprint path

Stage 1 (reporting)

Card is created with default items by campaign manager and assigned to member of team. Assigned team member fills report document with keywords, principles, ranking changes, advertisement impressions, engagement reports, and tracked optimization intentions. Adds other members. Moved.

Stage 2 (reacting)

Stage 2 forms the morning meeting's agenda. In 8:30 meeting on the sprint's first day, members discuss reports and make notes in the planning document. Moved.

Stage 3 (planning)

On their own, members review planning document and develop it into specific checklist items with approximate and make notes in the planning document. In 11:30 meeting on day 3 of the sprint, members discuss plans and possible modifications. Any members not participating in sprint further are removed. Moved.

Stage 4 (implementing)

On their own, members complete as many checklist items as possible while making comments. Moved.

Stage 5 (reviewing)

At end of the fifth day of the sprint, members review and document changes made, and their impression of the sprint as a whole. The client is notified of adjustments. Archived.


Site Development Board

The development board has 6 lists. See Appendix: Development Process for more information.

Period 0

Sites in this period are being onboarded and prepared for the kickoff meeting. After kickoff meeting, moved.

Period 1

During period 1, developers gather information from client and other sources.

Period 2

During period 2, developers build site on testing server

Period 3

During period 3, developers submit preview link and work to implement feedback.

Period 4

Period 4 is allocated for launching and finishing implementation of feedback

Period 5

Sites on this list have been completed but are still in the buffer zone


One-Time Projects board

One-time projects are mostly billable but can also be requested by a contracted client outside of a sprint.

  • Projects that do not have to be completed yet or cannot be completed

Waiting Cards

  • Projects ready to be worked on

Doing Cards

  • Projects in progress

Review Cards

  • Projects done and awaiting review and commentary
